Giga just went live yesterday (18 May), a new MVNO which as of now offers one plan – $25 for 25GB of data. In addition, there is also 1,000 free SMS, 1,000 minutes of talk time, free caller ID, and free incoming calls. And of course, there is no contract.
What differentiates Giga from the rest is two notable features.
- Rollover data – You can rollover your unused data over to the next month, for a maximum of 2 months. You can find out more here.
- Jetset Giga – roaming data option allowing you can buy 1GB of data for $5 that can be used in any of the 14 countries listed in italics below
(Supported countries for Jetset Giga include: Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam)
You can also purchase additional data in 1GB increments for $2 per 1GB. Giga also offers specific app data packs such as ‘Insta n FB pack’, and ‘Whatsapp pack’ for $1 per 1GB.
As part of early access, all new signups before 18th June will enjoy 1 month free subscription. Sign ups for Giga is entirely done online through its mobile app. They will use digital ID verification, so you will need to ready your NRIC or passport, a selfie with your ID, and a valid credit/debit card.
SIM cards will be delivered by Gogovan, and it’s said to be delivered within 24 hours.
