Dirac spatial audio solution can now be build directly into wireless headphones. This means that you can enjoy immersive, high-quality sound from standard stereo content regardless of the playback device or media player. This helps to improve the overall experience for general music listening, gaming, and movie watching. Spatial audio is something we have seen on the Creative SXFI and JBL Quantum.
Dirac’s spatial audio solution for its wireless headphones has two key features – (1) spatial audio and (2) speaker optimisation.
Spatial audio
Dirac’s spatial audio feature is enabled by its patented Dynamic HRTF technology, that creates an immersive stereo listening experience from just standard stereo content.
Speaker optimisation
Dirac’s speaker optimisation feature is enabled by its patented magnitude response correction and impulse response correction. This technology digitally enhances headphone performance without any need to improve the hardware. Dirac claims that the resulting sound quality will be clearer, balanced sound with richer, tighter bass.
What does this mean
Dirac is able to provide these audio tuning technologies to other headphone manufacturers so that they can built into into their products. Headphone manufacturers can integrate the new Dirac solution into chipsets from leading Bluetooth DSP vendors, such as Mediatek, BES, and Qualcomm. Klipsch and RHA has plans to integrate this new spatial audio tech into their upcoming headphones.
