Review: Quntis ScreenLinear Glow Pro Monitor Light Bar

If you’re using a curved monitor and not sure if a regular monitor will fit, you can consider the Quntis ScreenLinear Glow Pro as it has unique clamp style that lets it fit with many types of monitor. The ScreenLinear Glow Pro also has some useful features that might only be found on more expensive models from other brands. The ScreenLinear Glow Pro retails for USD$77.

Clamp that fits most monitors

Monitor light bars like the ScreenLinear Glow Pro sit on top of your monitor to better illuminate your workspace. ScreenLinear Glow Pro‘s clamp utilizes a tri-fold shape that can adapt to the thickness and shape of most monitors on the market, whether it has a irregular backing or a curved back. There is a front adjustment cover that you can further remove to fit monitors which are very thick.

I only have a regular monitor and the ScreenLinear Glow Pro clamps on well without any issue. I do notice that the light bar does sit further out more so than my BenQ ScreenBar Halo. ScreenLinear Glow Pro is powered by USB, and should be able to be powered by the USB-A ports on most monitors. However, I found it weird that the wired provided by Quntis is right angled so the wire becomes visually exposed as it leaves the light bar from its side.

Main light

The main light at the front of the ScreenLinear Glow Pro has reasonably wide throw area. It’s not the widest I’ve tested but definitely wider than cheaper light bars. I found it useful at illuminating my workspace when I work at night, and using it as my main source of light was actually sufficient. Also, light is dispersed at a 45º angle to reduce light from directly reflecting off the screen. This helps to minimize screen glare or reflection. The brightness of the ScreenLinear Glow Pro is not the brightest I’ve tested as it maxes out at 275 lumens but it is actually very much sufficient for my use at night.

It is worth noting that the main light of the ScreenLinear Glow Pro cannot be rotated at all so that angle of light throw you get is fixed. There are 5 brightness levels as well as 5 temperature settings (3000K to 6500K). There is a light sensor which can assess the brightness of the surroundings and automatically dims and increases the brightness. This feature can be enabled hands free as long as you turn on the auto-dim feature.

Backlight

ScreenLinear Glow Pro comes with a backlightigh which is a good way to add ambient lighting to your room. However, do note that you cannot independently turn on the backlight without having the main light turned on as well.

Also, I do feel the light throws more upwards and backwards given how high the backlight sits. There 3 levels of brightness which you can adjust, but there is only one fixed temperature at 3000K.

Remote Control

It is always nice to have a separate wireless remote control so you don’t have to reach upwards to press on the monitor light bar. This also means you have freedom of where you want to place it on your desk. The controller is powered by 3x AAA batteries.

The controls are touch sensitive so you swipe along in a circular motion to increase/decrease brightness and temperature. Apart from the standard controls of on/off and light adjustments, you can also create a 2-hour timer to turn off the light bar.

Conclusion

The Quntis ScreenLinear Glow Pro is slightly more expensive than the typical monitor light bar, but it does have some cool features such as its backlight, wireless remote control, and a versatile clamp to justify its price tag. If you’re looking to upgrade from a cheap option but not willing to spend hundreds on a monitor light bar. The ScreenLinear Glow Pro does looks like a nice middle ground.
