Design and build quality
The Simgot SuperMix 4 features a plastic resin shell paired with a lightweight aluminium backplate. The plastic feels robust and has a semi-transparent design, allowing you to glimpse the internal drivers when held at certain lighting angles. The backplate sports a matte finish, accompanied by a copper accent ring adds a modern touch to an otherwise clean understated design. The non-recessed 2-pin connectors add flexibility, making cable compatibility easier.
As for build quality, Simgot SuperMix 4 feels premium and sturdy in hand. The included cable also feels well-built, constructed from oxygen-free copper with silver plating and featuring four thick cores. It is on the thicker side so it does not tangle that easily.
Simgot only included 3 sizes of silicone eartips, which can feel like a lack of variety at its price point. Having said that, I managed to get a good fit with the size S and the wide bore tips does offer a good fit.
Comfort and fit
The Simgot SuperMix 4 has an ergonomic shape that gave a contoured fit in my ears. The wide bore shaped ear tips is also essential in getting the initial seal, before letting the shape of the earbuds rest comfortably in my ears.
The fit of the SuperMix 4 is definitely better than the EM6L as there are more defined curves on the inner side. Generally, the fit you get is rather natural and unobtrusive.
Sound quality
The bass performance of the Simgot SuperMix 4 is one of the stand-out. With a sub-bass driven response and well-controlled mid bass, it offers a punchy yet natural bass experience. You get a satisfying deep rumbling low-end presence and body that maintains clarity even in demanding tracks. If you’re a sucker for bass, the Simgot SuperMix 4 is definitely something you’d enjoy.
Midrange remained natural, with both male and female vocals sounding detailed and lush. Instrumental clarity is particularly enjoyable as well. As for highs, they are smooth and tuned naturally. You get a noticeable sparkle and energy, adding excitement to the sound. Treble extension is good without sounding too fatiguing or sibilant. Imaging is accurate, and the soundstage is more intimate unlike other IEMs where you get a wider sense of openness.
Conclusion
The SuperMix 4 is a well-rounded IEM with a strong bass response, natural tonality, and exudes a good level of detail retrieval. Bass enthusiasts, in particular, will appreciate its satisfying low-end without sacrificing clarity in other frequencies. Having said that, I feel the Simgot SuperMix 4 is a versatile IEM that caters to a broad audience, and is a solid all-rounder for those looking for a sub $200 performer.
