Open-ear earbuds are gaining in popularity maybe because of a shift towards a more active lifestyle. People are exercising more, and want a dedicated set of earbuds for that purpose. The Soundpeats Breezy is yet another pair of open-ear earbuds, but it is a different from the existing GoFree 2. Soundpeats Breezy currently retails for S$54.90, making it a pretty affordable purchase.
Build quality and battery life
Soundpeats Breezy feature an over-the-ear design with an adjustable earbuds. Design wise, the earbuds sport a carbon fiber-like finish, giving it a sporty feel to it. The earbuds drivers can be adjusted up to 90 degrees, so that you adjust the angle of it to ensure a comfortable fit as well as optimal speaker placement near the ear canal. With an IPX4 rating, Soundpeats Breezy can handle most sweaty workouts with ease.

The charging case for the Soundpeats Breezy is rather slim and compact for slipping into any pocket. It charges via USB-C and there is a small LED charging indicator on the front. The Soundpeats Breezy is expected to last up to 10 hours on a single charge, and you can expect a total of 40 hours with the charging case.

As for controls, they are touch based and located on the smooth outer surface of each earbud. I’ve always preferred physical buttons for any pair of earbuds designed for exercise as sweaty fingers are not a good fit with touch based controls. Adjusting the fit often results in unintended actions like pausing music, skipping tracks, or changing the volume.
Fit and comfort
The ear hooks on the Soundpeats Breezy are made of soft rubber, and they do feel comfortable on my ears. They also stay rather secure on my ears, and I had no problem with it during my 5km run. The Soundpeats Breezy‘s drivers are adjustable in terms of its angle with the ear hooks. This adjustability makes it easier to position the driver such that it can project sound more directly into your ears.

Do note that the amount of adjustments you can do is only one dimensional. This means you can only rotate the driver horizontally along the pivot of the ear hooks, unlike the TOZO OpenBuds where you can adjust the angle in both horizontal and vertical directions.
Sound quality
Open-ear headphones are not typically known for good bass performance due to the lack of seal when worn. The Soundpeats Breezy offers just enough to give the overall sound some punch but it can still sound rather flat. Midrange exudes a warm sound, with slight mid-bass bleed. Highs are quite bright and can get a little too sibilant for me. The accompanying app does help to tone down the sharpness, but you might be left with an overly warm dull sound.
Compared to a similar offering of the TOZO OpenBuds, the sound of the Soundpeats Breezy doesn’t sound as clear and full as the TOZO OpenBuds. Soundpeats Breezy has a layer of airiness or gap that channels the sound to your ears.
Conclusion
With discounts, you can probably snag the Soundpeats Breezy at below S$50 making it a low-cost option to accompany your gym workouts. The fit you get will be more secure than its sibling, GoFree 2, and it does sound a little better – likely because of the adjust the fit. Sound quality is decent, nothing too much to shout for so the Soundpeats Breezy‘s pull is really more of its price and function. Personally, I found having the ability to adjust the drivers makes it more versatile in terms of fit and comfort for people with varying sizes.
