The UWANT M700 Dust Mite Vacuum is a targeted cleaning tool designed to handle dust mites and bacteria often embedded deep in our beds, sofas, and soft furnishings. It’s currently priced at S$179, but launch offers and discount months are expected to bring the price down.
Design and build quality
The UWANT M700 is compact, ergonomic, and designed for specific use on bedding, upholstery, and fabric surfaces. It isn’t meant to replace your full vacuum setup, but to complement it like a focused tool in your cleaning arsenal.
The UWANT M700 is a wired product so you have to use it plugged into power. But thankfully, the wire is long enough so it should have no issues cleaning a queen or king-sized bed. The handle has a natural grip and angle that feels easy to handle one-handed.
In terms of construction, the UWANT M700 feels solidly built despite the use of plastic. It has some weight to it but doesn’t feel overly heavy that it tires you out when moving it back and forth on a mattress. The buttons are responsive and tactile, and the dust cup and filter mechanism feel sturdy when clicked into place.
Cleaning experience and features
Using the M700 is straightforward – plug it to power and press the on/off button to get it going. UWANT M700 leverages a combination of far-infrared heat, tapping, suction, UV sterilization, and hot air drying to perform the cleaning. You can check out a short demo on a pillow below:
Five-Zone Metal Beater & Smart Sensor System
Apart from suction, UWANT M700 features a five-zone metal beater to add a physical element to dust mite removal. These small tappers in each section vibrate and tap against the fabric surface, shaking loose embedded mites and dust for effective suction. There is also a dark red strip under which is a anti-static hair remover that helps to remove hair that tends to adhere to fabric surfaces.
In my testing, hair and dust are effectively sucked away. The LED screen on the UWANT M700 also indicates the amount of dust that the infrared sensor detects – it goes from 00 to 99. This is powered by a sensor from the suction hole.
Far-Infrared Heat Penetration
One of UWANT M700’s core technologies is far-infrared heat penetration. Unlike conventional hot air systems, infrared heats from within, reaching deeper into fabrics and ensuring mites and allergens don’t simply stay buried below the surface. This makes the vacuum particularly useful for mattresses, where dust mites often build up unseen.
There’s no actual way for me to test if the dust mites were removed, but it is comforting that the surface of my mattress and pillow felt warm. You get to see the infrared heat in action through the red light when you press the UWANT M700 against mattress.
UV Sterilisation & 65°C Hot Air Drying
Apart from infrared, the UWANT M700 also includes UV light sterilisation (depicted by the purple UV light shown in the picture above) and 65°C hot air drying. These features are nice final touches that sterilise and dry out the cleaned fabric.
That means no dampness or lingering moisture after a cleaning session, which is a thoughtful addition especially in humid climates like Singapore.
Aromatherapy Mite Removal
Lastly, UWANT M700 also has a built-in aromatherapy system. UWANT provides a small bottle of essential oil which you can add to the vacuum through the small rubber cover. As the vacuum operates, it releases a soft fragrance which isn’t overpowering. The calming scent doesn’t just cover odours as essential oils contain ingredients that hinder growth of dust-mites.
Maintenance
There is a quick release button to remove the dust cup from the vacuum. There are a few filter components but they are easily removed and cleaning them is as simple as washing with water.
It’s weirdly nice to see dust collected in the dust cup as I’d never expect all these dust to be inhabiting on my mattress, pillow, sofa, and other fabric upholstered products. The roller brush also can be removed for cleaning. Simply unlock the lock clips and the brush roller cover should pop up.
Conclusion
The UWANT M700 Dust Mite Vacuum is a pretty niche product but if you’re looking for a more targeted tool than your regular vacuum cleaner to clean mattresses and other fabric based products, then this could be something you can consider. Its advertised infrared heating, aromatherapy, and sterilisation gives peace of mind to those serious about mattress hygiene, allergy prevention, or just wanting fresher-smelling bedding.
