ASUS showcases their first Chrome OS tablet

2019 seems the year for more tablets to start running on Chrome OS, ever since the Pixel Slate was launched late 2018. ASUS unveils its first Chrome OS tablet, the CT100. This tablet’s main target audience are students.

The CT100 will have a 9.7″ QXGA (1536 x 2048) touchscreen, and is supposed to be scratch resistant due to its tough rubber bumper which will cover all four edges. ASUS claims the CT100 has surpassed the military-grade MIL-STD-810G durability standards.

ASUS CT100 will be powered by a hexa-core OP1 processor (1.6 GHz, up to 2.0 GHz). RAM on this device is 4GB with 32GB of eMMC storage. It runs on a 35WHr Li-polymer battery, with ASUS claiming 10 hours battery life. And thankfully, the tablet charges via USB-C.

ASUS is also including a stylus, more accurately a Wacom® EMR Pen. The pen can be hidden inside the tablet’s built-in pen holder.
