ErgoTune crowdfunds for their new modular desk – Hexon

ErgoTune is launching a new sit-stand desk and they are crowdfunding it in Kickstarter. The new desk is called Hexon, and it has cool quirks and features to make it a standing desk designed to be customised for your own unique needs.

Declutter made easy with QuickSnap Modules

Hexon comes with a starter kit of QuickSnap modules to help your sort and organise things on and even under your desk to minimize clutter by allowing you to create dedicated spaces for your items. Hexon is cleverly designed such that you even have a space to hide things not commonly accessed in the Wire Cabin.

The QuickSnap Modules have two categorisation in the Kickstarter: (1) Starter Kit, (2) Add-ons. The modules you will receive in the starter kit contains:

  • Stationery kit
  • Cable stoppers
  • Precision View monitor arm

The add-ons will have the below to choose from:

  • Desk shelf
  • Pegboard
  • Catch All
  • Undermount hook
  • Undermount drawer
  • Undermount CPU mount

Cable management done for you

Cable management is a chore to get it done right. Even if you have a perfectly clean desk with cables neatly routed, you’d still have one cable dangling down from the table in order to power the sit-stand motors. The Hexon tables changes all that with its Integrated Power Supply.

There is just one cable at the base of the table that connects to the Power Integrated Legs. The best part is that this cable also powers a built-in electrical socket (ie. surge protector) that can help power all the electronics on your setup.

The built-in electrical socket will then be store in the Wire Cabin, hidden away from sight. The Wire Cabin has 3 hatches which you can flip them all to access. Having three separate hatches is smart as you don’t have to remove any items in that area of the desk when you wish to access the cables.

Standing reminders with Health Coach

Last but not least, you have the familiar Health Coach from the EverDesk working on the Hexon desk as well. The Health Coach offers three personalised presets for quick one-touch height adjustments, as well as its smart sit-stand reminders to nudge you to change working positions.

Tabletop options and specs

The Hexon kickstarter has two colour choices: (1) Maple top + white frame, (2) Walnut top + black frame. The worktop is made of MDF wood, strengthened by steel framing, finished off with veneer. Unfortunately, there is only one size of worktop available at 59″ x 30″ (1.5m x 0.76m). It would have been nice to a longer option of 71″ (1.8m) to neatly accommodate dual 27″ monitor setups. Hexon has a height adjustable range of 25″ to 50″ (64cm to 127cm), and has a maximum load of 265lbs (120kg).

Where to buy

The Hexon starts at US$799 (update 15/2: all gone), which is 47% off its retail price. The Super Early Bird bundle goes for US$1,049 (which is 30% off retail price). The project is expected to make its delivery by June 2024.
