Two ASUS laptops you should consider for school

ASUS in the recent years have made significant progress in their laptop designs to one that is sleek, light, compact with minimal bezels. Out of the many ultrabooks and laptop within the same price range, I find ASUS providing the best value.

Here are two laptops which you should consider:

 ZenBook Flip 13 UX362FA

The main selling point of the ZenBook Flip 13 is that it is a compact convertible laptop featuring frameless NanoEdge display providing a 90% screen-to-body ratio. Despite being a 360° laptop, it still has its ErgoLift hinge which helps with airflow and hiding the bottom bezel well. This ultrabook weighs in at just 1.09kg!

The ZenBook Flip 13 also brings the NumberPad seen on the ZenBook 15. The NumberPad is an innovative dual-function touchpad with a built-in LED-illuminated numeric keypad, great for Microsoft Excel when you’re keying in data.

Packed with Intel’s 8th Generation Intel® Core i7 processor with 16GB of RAM and PCIe® SSD storage, expect the Zenbook Flip 13 to be super fast in booting up or loading apps everyday. The ZenBook Flip 13 also has an infrared (IR) camera which allows you to log in via Windows Hello. Battery is rated at 13 hours, and has a fast charging capability of fast-charging to 60% in 49 minutes.

The full specs can be found here:

The ASUS ZenBook Flip 13 (UX362FA-EL315T) will be retailing at $1,898 from 9th August at all ASUS Brand Shop, ASUS Online Store and all authorised retailers.

VivoBook S15 S531FL

If you do not really value portability and instead want a larger screen but yet do not want to pay too much, then the VivoBook S15 S531FL might be just for you!

The VivoBook S15 S531FL has narrow bezel design with unique color options. Despite not being a “ZenBook”, it still packs lots of power with its 8th Generation Intel® Core i7 processors, NVIDIA® GeForce® MX250 discrete graphics and a 512GB PCIe® SSD.

On top of that, you even get an infrared (IR) camera, which is the first on a VivoBook. This means you get to use Windows Hello. Just like the ZenBook Flip 13, the battery also fast-charges 60% in 49 minutes.

Weighing in at 1.8kg for a 15-inch laptop, it is pretty light to carry around.

The ASUS VivoBook S15 (S531FL-BQ188T) will be retailing at $1,598 from 9th August at all ASUS Brand Shop, ASUS Online Store and all authorised retailers.
