The MOFT X is a stand for your phone. But what is the difference compared to an iPhone ring or the PopSocket? They are all basically attachments on the back of your phone to provide you with better grip while holding the phone and also act as a kickstand for your phone if you want to watch videos.
But there is an issue – they’re aren’t exactly very eye pleasing (and they might get caught in your pockets if you’re rocking those tight jeans).

Build quality
I like the materials that the MOFT team used – the polyurethane fabric and fiberglass feels nice to touch and adds a premium feel about it.
The folds snap well in place and the card sleeve feels durable and secure.
Design
The MOFT X Phone stand comes in three colors – Space Grey, Dark Blue, Midnight Green. The unit that I’ve got it the Space Grey one, which I like the best. The overall look of the stand is very modern and minimal, and blends into the design of any phone rocking a black back.
And also because it is only about 5mm thin, it doesn’t really bulge out at the back of your phone and makes it feel like it is one unit together with your phone. At just 29g, you really will not feel the extra weight when holding your phone. That’s why MOFT calls it ‘invisible’.
Features
Stand in portrait and landscape mode
That’s right. With the MOFT X Phone stand, you can stand your phone in both landscape and portrait mode! When standing in both modes, you get a 60° angle which is a great angle for watching videos or referencing to materials on your phone.
And because of the way the MOFT X Phone stand was designed, you can go from landscape mode to portrait mode merely by turning your phone! Super convenient without having to adjust anything.
Removable glue
This another big selling point. When pasting the phone stand onto the phone, it feels good to know that you can always remove it if your alignment is skewed. Despite using a removable glue, the stand still holds on to the phone very strongly and securely. And when I removed the stand, it did not leave a single mark or scratch on my iPhone or ASUS ZenFone.
Do note that phones with glass back such as the iPhone 8, X, XS, you will have to apply the glass sticker on the back your phones before sticking the MOFT X.
Card sleeve
The stand also doubles as a card sleeve which can hold up to 3 cards. The sleeve is also RFID so you can feel safe leaving those cards behind your phone.
Hand grip
The folding of the stand creates a triangle shaped hole which you can slot your fingers through while holding the phone. This is similar in concept to the phone ring and PopSocket, all meaning to give you a more secure grip while holding your phone.
Magnetic sticker pad
The MOFT X Phone stand package also includes a magnetic sticky pad which you can paste onto any surface via its 3M adhesive. Once you have that magnetic sticker pad on that surface, you can attach your phone magnetically onto that pad.
It is quite useful when you need your phone as reference and require both hands to do things – such as in the car or in the kitchen.
User experience
Let’s talk about its main feature as a phone stand. It works really great and the glue is really secure. No matter how I try to fling the phone off, the glue sticks well. Setting up the phone to stand in either mode is super fast. Just a quick fold, and the phone is up and ready to stand in either mode at a 60º angle.
As a card sleeve, it was advertised to hold up to 3 cards. But with my experience, fitting in one card is the most practical as the sleeve is quite tight, so if you are constantly removing cards in the sleeve then you might have to go through some fiddling.
However, it is important to note that you cannot charge your phone through wireless charging if you have the MOFT X Phone stand on the back of your phone. This could be a dealbreaker for some, but you are not one who charges your phone wirelessly often then the MOFT X Phone stand remains a pretty attractive option.
Do also note because of the materials used, the MOFT X Phone stand, is not waterproof. But if you ever face a situation where you want to bring your phone into the water, you can simply remove the stand as it has removable glue.
Conclusion
The form factor of the MOFT X Phone stand is what I believe to be its greatest selling point. With a slim form factor and a modern design, having that on the back of my phone feels ‘classier’ that a phone ring or PopSocket. Also, the card sleeve can come in handy such as keeping your hotel card access when you’re travelling.
