Martiangear Cockpit Pro – The next level of gaming and working

Gaming cockpits are a fairly new concept in Singapore simply because there aren’t many companies selling it here. In other countries though, gaming cockpits are more heard of such as the Predator Thronos from Acer. But even so, the Acer Predator Thronos costs a whopping S$18,999. Martiangear has decided to bring the concept of gaming cockpits to Singapore and at a much more affordable price of $5888 with 2-year warranty, which delivers next day with free assembly at your house.

What is the Martiangear Cockpit Pro?

  • Triple-screen brackets for VESA mounting

Design and features

The gaming chair that comes with the Martiangear Cockpit Pro is the black Martiangear Astronaut in vegan leather. Instead of the 4D arm rests that is default on the Astronaut, the am rests on the Martiangear Cockpit Pro are plush PU-leather ones which feel more comfortable, but have limited height adjustments. As there is no gas-lift, the height of the chair cannot be adjusted. Thankfully, everything else can be adjusted using the handy control panel situated just above the left arm rest.

To start, you can open and close the cabin with a press of a button. When opened, the Martiangear Cockpit Pro can go as high as 2.16m tall, and when closed it goes down to 1.7m tall.

Next, there is this mode called ‘Zero-G‘. What Zero-G does it that it reclines the chair together with monitors such that you are somewhat in a lying down position at a 140º angle. A leg rest also props out to support your calves. This mode is great for sitting back to relax, to watch a movie or play some casual games. Or if you someone who ever wishes to lie down to work or watch shows – the ‘Zero-G’ mode is meant for you.

The Martiangear Cockpit Pro is also outfitted with a footrest which you can control the height of it using the pedal rise/pedal descend button. This is great addition as it allows for more comfortable placement of my feet when I’m seated. To be honest, you don’t actually appreciate the existence of a footrest until you’ve used one.

You can also adjust the height of the monitors and swing the desk top out or bring it in. The acrylic desk top measures 96cm by 40cm and it is able to fit a full-size keyboard comfortably. The desk top swings out in a clockwise fashion as seen below:

On the left of the chair, you have two cup holders and a headphone hook. There are storage bins on both sides of the chair to keep other gear such as mouse, gaming controller, mechanical keyboard when you’re not using them.

Martiangear Cockpit Pro is designed with cable management in mind. The base of the Cockpit Pro is also a compartment where you can hide your computer or console, allowing the entire setup to be on its own. The wires connected to the monitors are also well hidden in the arch. There are also built-in USB-A slots (4 slots) at the right side of the Cockpit Pro which allows you connect peripherals such as a mechanical keyboard like the Supersolid DT-001 or a gaming mouse.

Compartment to hide your PC or console

As Martiangear Cockpit Pro is primarily designed for gaming, it of course comes with RGB lighting. You even have a remote control to change the colour of the lights on the fly (picture of the remote is a prototype).

Another plus of the Martiangear Cockpit Pro is that the package comes with Martiangear’s very own lumbar massager pillow. It is a shiatsu massager and is similar to lower back massagers like OSIM’s uCosy but this is designed for your Martiangear gaming chair.

Customisability

The Martiangear Cockpit Pro listed on their website is technically considered the base model, which comes with the vegan leather Astronaut chair in black. If you prefer another model like the Supernova, you’ll be glad to know that Martiangear has very flexible customisations options.

Not only can you change the chair, you can even change the table top. If you prefer a wooden top, you can switch out the default acrylic one for it. If you’re a business, you can even add your own logo to the Cockpit Pro. If you require a 5 monitor setup instead of the default 3, you can also put in a request. Don’t like black? You can paint the entire Cockpit Pro red and have a statement piece in your house. If you’re a streamer and need additional mounts for your camera, you can also request for it.

You get the idea – if you have something you want the Cockpit Pro to have, you can reach out to the Martiangear at info@martiangear.sg and they can check if it is doable on their end. These customisations usually have a 1-month lead time, and do come at an additional cost depending on the type of request.

Optional hardware add-ons

Martiangear has partnered with Dreamcore, Supersolid and Redbull Gaming for the launch of the Martiangear Cockpit Pro. If you need a gaming PC, you can easily add-on one from Dreamcore. Peripherals such as the Supersolid PQ27 Pro monitor or the Supersolid DT-001 mechanical keyboard can also be added on during the checkout process.

Experience

When sitting in the Martiangear Cockpit Pro on its default mode, it feels pretty similar to a desk and chair combo. But with the three 27-inch monitors facing me, the view I had when gaming was really immersive. Also, the reading light along the arc of the Martaingear Cockpit Pro gave off a nice diffused light, which set a really comfy mood while playing at night. I played Forza Horizon in the Cockpit Pro and I was able to get a super wide view when driving around the circuit. I can only imagine it to be even more immersive if I was using a steering wheel instead of the Xbox controller.

The real magic comes when I go into Zero-G mode. Because the leg rest is activated as well, my legs don’t hang awkwardly and I can lie comfortably while having a good view of all three monitors. The experience of lying down while still maintaining a comfortable view of all the monitors is not something easily replicated at home.

Speaking of home, the Martiangear Cockpit Pro initially looks quite big, but it will actually fit in most rooms. In fact, the footprint of the Martiangear Cockpit Pro may be even smaller than a typical desk + gaming chair setup. The base has wheels and it comes with handles so it is easy to move and adjust the position of the Cockpit Pro.

How to buy

If you’re interested in what the base model has to offer, you can simply go to the Martiangear Cockpit Pro product page and add to cart and check out. There is also a 24-month installment option that requires you to pay S$250 over 24 months.

If you want to check out the Martiangear Cockpit Pro in real life, simply book at demo here and head down to their showroom at The Riverwalk 20 Upper Circular Rd, #01-14, Singapore 058416. It will also be easier to discuss customizations and you can get to try out all Martiangear gaming chairs such as the Supernova before deciding on the perfect one to fix in the Cockpit Pro.
