Review: Creative Aurvana Trio LS Earphones

The Aurvana series of products by Creative are considered to have more focus on the audio tuning. Despite the Trio in the name, the Creative Aurvana Trio LS utilises a single driver, which Creative terms it to be Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR). As Creative Aurvana Trio LS is wired only, it is priced really affordable at just S$59.

Unboxing

Below are the items you’ll find in the box:

  • Pouch
  • User manual

Build quality and controls

The Creative Aurvana Trio LS follows the design elements of the Aurvana Trio, with the ear nozzle angled for a better fit. The Left and Right earbuds can be magnetically joined together as well. The sawtooth sheath cable prevents the cables from tangling. It supposedly reduces the annoying noise heard back into the earphones caused by friction against clothing when walking. In my testing, I can still hear them, but perhaps it is already considered minimal.

The inline controls on the cable houses a single button that handles both media and calls. A single press triggers play/pause, double press goes forward, and triple press goes backwards.

Fit and comfort

Creative Aurvana Trio LS offers a comfortable and natural fit in my ears thanks to the angled ear nozzle, which helps to align the fit along the contours of my ear. There are also 2 other sizes of silicon ear tips to choose from to create a better seal.

The ear tips used are conical shaped, which I found to be really comfortable even with long hours of wearing them. Despite having wires, I didn’t really feel the weight of the wires interfering with the fit or comfort.

Sound quality

The Creative Aurvana Trio LS is equipped with a brand new Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) driver. The sound of the Creative Aurvana Trio LS is one that is slightly more focused the lower end. I say slight because this isn’t an overly bass heavy sound.

Bass has good presence, delivering impactful thumps and offers sub-bass reverb that fills the soundstage. If you’re a bass head, you’ll definitely like the sound of this. Midrange is well presented and is thankfully not clouded by the bass. Voices and instruments remains prominent in the mix, just that they have a warm veil to them. Treble remains clear and also slightly on the warm side. Those who prefer a brighter treble like on the Outlier V3, will surely want a little more openness to the highs.

Creative Aurvana Trio LS is a SXFI certified pair of earphones, which means it is optimized for use with Super X-Fi products, like the Creative SXFI AMP, Sound Blaster GC7, and Sound Blaster X4, for holographic listening experience.

Conclusion

If you’re in the market for a wired pair of earphones, then the Creative Aurvana Trio LS is a great value buy for all that it is offering. Comfort is what I would summarize the Creative Aurvana Trio LS. Comfortable fit and comfortable sound for long hours of listening. The Creative Aurvana Trio LS retails for S$59.
