Unboxing

In the box, you’ll find 3 trays of keycaps and a keycap puller.

Keyboard layout support

Kinetic Labs call the kitting option for their Galaxy PBT as an all-in-one kit option. But do note their kitting supports only ANSI layouts. Conventional layouts such as 60%, 65%, TKL, and full size, will all be supported.

Keycaps quality

The molds used by Kinetic Labs Galaxy PBT are same as the classic Seal PBT V2 and the Code keycaps, where the modifier keys are text based instead of icons. Font sizing will also be slightly smaller than the GMK ones.

Legends of the Kinetic Labs Galaxy PBT are sharp and consistent, manufactured from the double-shot process. The keycaps are slightly textured but I’d say it’s overall a smooth feeling one. The 1.5mm thick keycaps feels a little thinner than those on the Hippo PBT which uses a different mold.

Colourway & mounted on keyboards

Kinetic Labs Galaxy PBT features a strong bright purple on the alphas accompanied by neon turquoise legends, reminiscent of the style of GMK Laser. The modifier keys have a darker shade of purple that helps blend the overall purple theme well.

For the added pop of colour, the Kinetic Labs Galaxy PBT uses the neon turquoise colour as the accents. If you prefer a clean purple colour theme, the Esc and Enter keys also come in the dark purple colour. Personally, the Galaxy PBT felt like a blend of GMK Laser and GMK Mecha. I mounted the Kinetic Labs Galaxy PBT on my modded Wooting 60HE in a silver PSD60 case. And here’s how it looks:

If you don’t like the pop coming from the accented keys, you can opt to them in the non-accent colours which are the dark purple colour.

Where to buy

The Kinetic Labs Galaxy PBT retail for US$64.99 which is rather affordable. For non-US buyers, the shipping out of US can be expensive. For Singapore buyers, you can try collating orders to split the shipping cost or use freight forwarding services such as EzShip to reduce the shipping cost.
